A cycle path along the Loire
Our hotel is located 50 metres from the Loire à Vélo cycle route and next to the Royal Château of Blois. For cyclists, there is a closed garage for bicycles.
The Loire à Vélo is a cycle path that runs along the Loire from Nevers to the river mouth at Saint-Brévin-les-Pins. It runs for 800 km in both directions. The route forms part of the western section of Eurovélo 6, Europe's longest cycle route.
The stages of the Loire by bike
The Loire à Vélo crosses the Centre and Pays de la Loire regions, which own the "La Loire à Vélo" brand. The stages of La Loire à Vélo rarely exceed 40 km, which corresponds to around 4 hours' cycling (at the postman's pace) over a very slight difference in altitude: 190 metres for 800 km. The entire route is signposted and there are no difficulties.
Les Châteaux à Vélo
In the Loir-et-Cher region, there's a collateral cycle route: the Châteaux à Vélo. It winds around Blois and takes in the châteaux of Blois and Chambord via Vineuil, Huisseau, La Chaussée-St-Victor and St Dyé sur Loire. Blois lies at the junction of the Muides-Blois section upstream (2 possible itineraries) and the Blois-Cande-sur-Beuvron section downstream. This route is accessible to everyone, children and parents, singles, couples or groups.
